Hey. – Matt

Hey.

Hi. I’m Matt, and this is my blog for independent projects, as well as various projects for Where’s My Planet and others.

To start off , I’d like to talk about past events.

Such as the Halloween Special.

And finally:

That last picture was taken from the movie. This shot was really the coup de grĂ¢ce of the film. Though poorly used, this shot was made to hide Ethan, who actually grabbed our necks and pulled us into the dark abyss, making for a funny scene. I will admit, I was unsure about using this shot, but in the end, it ended up working anyway and we came up with an OK video.

We still don’t have all of the equipment we’d need to make the best videos in the world. My main concern is lighting. That video was a poor display of lighting, and I hadn’t at all thought of lighting until after we filmed. Good lighting is important to video production, but it’s also pretty costly.

Anyway, filming the thing was fun. We took a lot of shots, tried to keep continuity and all that. The funnest part was the Dark scene. We took that 3 times, with practice shots to see if it would work. Lucky us, it did. Ethan was perfectly concealed behind a ski mask (did you see his face pop up during the scene?) and everything went according to plan. Jak got bruised and scratched though, as Ethan pulled him back into a bush.. and when he was pulling us back he was seriously pulling us back.

Ethan’s evil laughter at the end was good. I honestly think it’s kind of scary.

Kind of.

Anyways, it’s time to talk about independent projects.

My friend Sean had a party. We went to it, had tacos, pizza, and a good time. I happened to bring my camera, and after having a Nerf gun war, decided to film one. It’s still in the editing process (it was more for fun, so it wasn’t as professional as it could have been) so here are some screen shots.

Aim and fire.

Dont touch my Butterfinger

Admit Defeat.

It was a fun movie to make, though most of us were tired or grouchy at 2:00 in the morning. Kind of a tough crowd to work with.. :P

Also, I’m working on a Christmas Animation with my friends Jack (not Jak) Tyler and Hunter. Jack and I have already written the script, and it is in the developmental stages. We hope to have it finished by Christmas. It’s a bit short (I’d imagine around 5 minutes) but it’s funny and we’ve packed it full of good bits. I’ll get screenshots of that later..

I’d like to end this post by saying my Video Productions class has moved into Lighting, something I had mentioned earlier. Usually for the more advanced students, out teacher is having us learn lighting techniques because he has a small advanced class this year. We’re going to start working with it a bit soon, and I’m pretty excited.

Also.. Ethan and I are hunting for a green screen…
